Much has been said about employment discrimination with regards to the transgender.  ENDA, the Employment Non Discrimination Act, is highly touted by both the GLB and the transgender.  I have no feelings on ENDA one way or the other.  But with well over a hundred combined municipalities and states having statutes and ordinances prohibiting employment discrimination based on GLBT identification…and, at least to hear that same GLBT talk, those statutes and ordinances having little or no effect on GLBT employment, it will be anything but the transgender holy grail.

From late 1969 until late 1976, between my first attempt at college majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and my second stint, majoring and graduating in Industrial Engineering, I was an award winning, semi famous hairdresser and platform artist.  For the better part of seven years, including those final two when I went back to school, that’s all I did.  For a significant part of that time, I was a platform artist representing what was then and now the most prestigious line of hair products in the world.  I traveled all over the United States teaching others the latest trends in both hair and make-up.  For six days a week, every week, for most of that seven years I was around women all day long.  I worked in an upscale salon in New Orleans and later, when I went back to college, in Lafayette.

It’s been a good week.

First, a first, a delusional, disjointed, irrelavant, incomprehendable troll was banned from here.  Then a Woman Born Transgender Transsexual principal finally admitted she’d “…changed her views”…after a career of insulting the transgender in the vilest of ways they are not so bad to her now.  Ah, the trips of an unstable mind…go figure.  And, finally, two supposed friends, were in fact…well, not; it’s the case of the crusader and the lying feminist.  It’s always nice to know who your friends are.

Yes, a splendid week indeed.

On a different note, Ariablue, unlike the above, a woman of who sees things in the right perspective wrote a fine essay entitled Hatred.  I urge you to check out the piece on her excellent site.  The essay revolves around the tenor of her site, as critiqued by a commenter.  I had a comment:

“Aria…the insults are part of the game, and there’s no telling from which direction it will come.  They take the form of hate (and every form of the word), phobia (add the prefix du jour), and bigotry (insert your favorite position)…and my two favorites, self loathing and internalized (insert your favorite form of hatred, phobia, or bigotry).  It’s like a broken record.  It doesn’t matter what one’s position is, if it’s contrary to the overall GLBT mindset the insults will follow.  No need to parse one’s words, it makes no difference how delicate one states their position, it makes no difference if one prefaces what they are about to say with enough aplogies to satisfy the Nuremberg judges.  If one takes the position we have, they will be branded with the label of a hater.  Just the way it is.”

And…that very much is, the way it is.

Some of our adversaries can engage in reasonable discussion.  Others can’t comprehend plain English…either that or they don’t even try to understand our position.  Instead, they insult…cry foul…shout discrimination and call us bigots,  for no other reason than because we don’t want to live in what they see as the world.  They continue trying to bring us down, to their level.  They live in the mundane, residing in the trans world, afraid that anything or anyone that is not for them…hates them.  And, that’s about as screwed up as it gets.

I don’t know whether this group of people are intentionally ignorant, severely insecure, paranoid schizophrenic, sociopathic, or just plain stupid…they make some of the most ignorant statements and comments imaginable.

Does it really matter?

Not to me; that’s the way it is…

Cross posted, with permission, from Cassandra Speaks…I urge all of you to check out her excellent site for other honest, objective commentaries related to the gender debate.

I read on another blog a view that transition never stops.  I don’t believe that is true; I never have, I thought it nonsense and frankly a stupid thing to say the very first time I heard the statement.  Perhaps what they should say is you never stop growing and maturing as a person and as a woman.  That I certainly believe is true.

For a start, so much of what is possible is variable; at what time in your life transition begins and what it is you need from life and post transition life.  The person who said this isn’t really important to this essay so I am not going to name names.  What I will say however is that they are regarded by the transgender crowd as perfect role models.  They hold something of a celebrity status in the GLBT circles.  Anyone who has read my views before will know how I feel about TG issues.  All I can say is that if you use these two individuals as role models your outcome is not going to be good and very likely life will not turn out the way you would like.

I didn’t start my blog so that people would “have some place to go.”  I’ve never asked even one person to link to my blog on theirs; one can check all over my pages and they won’t find a blogroll anywhere.  I don’t post essays on my blog so that others will acknowledge what I have to say.  My posts here are not written with the intent of increasing visits by others.  One will never find advertisements on my blog; it’s almost a challenge to even see the name of it.  I don’t ask for donations to keep it running.  When I started my blog, I never asked anyone how to proceed or how I should run it.  And, I never started this place in order to win any popularity contests.

I wrestled with gender for my entire life up until GRS,  having first attempted to transition in 1969, at 19, working for a time as a bar girl in the infamous Gunga Den on Bourbon Street.  I started Enough Non-Sense because I was nauseated with how the gender debate had unfolded during the past forty years.  My distaste for the GLB and homosexual T had reached the boiling point.  And, make no mistake, I lay the entire issue – classic transsexuality relegated to some other-than-female status – at the feet of the GLB and homosexual T.  I was fed up with the non-sense and realized I couldn’t sit on the sidelines and watch any longer.

I am not a fan of Calpernia Addams, nor Andrea James for that matter, though like many, I think TS Roadmap is an excellent resource for transsexuals; it’s tantamount to me not being an Anne Lawrence fan, yet respecting Transsexual Women’s Resources.  My not being enthused about Calpernia has nothing to do with her success; she has taken a tragedy and turned it into a living as a professional post op transsexual…more power to her and to each their own.  My rub with Ms. Addams is that she is GLB and, specifically, Transgender centered.  No, she is no friend to classic transsexuality.  Her life, as I read it on her website is and has always revolved around the homosexual movement.  So, once again, a pseudo celebrity, out and proud post op transsexual is furthering a stereotype that I despise.  Andrea James, in spite of having a fine resource site, is in the same vein.  The straight world doesn’t see TS Roadmap, but they are exposed to her public presentation which is, again, GLB and transgender centered.

Recently, on her site, Suzan, or Suzanne (take your pick) Cooke cross posted an article written by Ms. Addams.  The subsequent discussion addressed the “transition is never finished” issue.  I weighed in with this comment:

The transgender have a real chip on their shoulder.  And, by transgender, I’m specifically speaking of the non-op by choice transsexuals, crossdressers, transvestites, other than/less than/different than women who happen to be post ops, and anyone else who identifies as a trans woman.  True transsexuals need not apply.

The transgender just can’t seem to gain any traction nor respect outside of their own group.  If lack of legitimacy is the transgender’s cheese, then the entire planetary mainstream are voracious mice.  Everyone, it seems, is the nemesis of the transgender.  They don’t even have the respect and support of the gays and lesbians they are aligned with.  And, they wonder why…

THIS ARTICLE is a must read for anyone fed up with the GLB and homosexual Transgender’s history of appropriation and colonization.

Yes, we are the real transsexuals.

I don’t think enough of us let it be known that, yes, we are the real transsexuals.

I’m between contracts right now and have spent a while at home.  Once I wash the old man’s clothes, clean house, monkey in the yard, and return a few business phone calls I’m pretty bored.  As of late, that has lead me to spend more time surfing the blogs than I normally do.  Yesterday, on the previous post, I made a comment about never having been banned from a blog; that’s the truth.  But I also listed just a few of the blogs that, though I may have commented on a time or two before, I don’t comment on as a general rule.  One of those is Questioning Transphobia.  Read More »
