VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict said on Monday that saving humanity from homosexual or transsexual behavior was just as important as saving the rainforest from destruction.”
The pope said humanity needed to “listen to the language of creation” to understand the intended roles of man and woman. He compared behavior beyond traditional heterosexual relations as “a destruction of God’s work.”
Now, after searching the net, there appears to be no direct quote from Pope Benedict in which, in this instance, he mentions the word transsexual though, in the interest of fairness, the Vatican has spoken specifically on the issue of transsexuality before. So, did Pope Benedict actually say “…homosexual or transsexual behavior…” or was that just what the author of the article, Phil Stewart, deduced from the transcript of the Pope’s address?
Does it matter?
